Disabled Vet Gene Burns loses all in Camp Fire

Donation protected
Gene, a retired, disabled Marine Vet and his wife, Diane, a breast cancer survivor, lost their home in the Camp Fire on November 8th, 2018.  In addition, our brother Jim, his girlfriend and 2 young children and their extended family lost their home and Jim's car.

Gene's brother Earl (our uncle), Jim's daughter (our niece) Kassandra and their families ALL lost their homes.  They had moments to flee and lost everything.  4 homes of over 14000 destroyed and lost so far.   I lived in Paradise for 7  years and it's heartbreaking to see the devastation affecting so many families.

I am raising money to try to help them get back on their feet.  Our brother had no insurance on their home so they will be starting over without any help, save for friends and family and the kindness of strangers.   Jim is also disabled and unable to work so Gene and Diane have been helping to share their burden.

Our dad sacrificed so much and is a double amputee from the Vietnam War and Purple Heart recipient, which he was luckily able to salvage on his way out the door.   Gene recently also survived 2 heart attacks this year in June so we are trying to do anything we can to lessen the stress in his life.  He is a fighter but even strong people need help.  We want to help our family as much as possible.

We are so thankful and grateful they are alive and safe but it will take a lot of time and money to help them.  Please help us lessen that burden for them.

No donation is too small and all donations, thoughts, prayers are so appreciated.  Thank you ♥
