Critical Surgery Needed for Angela
Donation protected
My daughter Angela was born with Congential Cholesteatoma a destructive and expanding growth which occurs in the middle ear.
See the link below for more techincal information on this never ending disease.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cholesteatoma
As a small child she had three surgeries one to remove the disease and two reconstructions of her middle ear and artificial bones put into place.
Angela is now in her early thirties and has just discovered the Cholesteatoma has returned not only in the original ear but also in her good ear.
She doesn't have much time before this disease will begin to wrap around her facial nerve again. If left on it's own it will eventually spread to her brain. As her mother I cannot sit and wait for this trauma, I must do something to help my daughter.
Like many Americans the economy has hit hard to some of our family. Myself and Angela cannot afford medical insurance. Angela is in a quandry as she cannot get insurance for her ear due to the pre-existing medical condition. I work in a convenience store as a part time cashier; Angela is waitressing. We are not well to do people so we turn to our family, friends and community in an attempt to reach out for help.
The following are Angela's own words from her facebook page:
Dear everyone. I was born with Cholesteatoma. I had a bunch of surgeries when I was a kid... and sadly it's time for surgeries again. both of my ears are in bad shape. The left ear is already shot and nothing can be done about the hearing. I don't hear out of it really at all. But, needs to be cleared out of infection and reconstructed slightly so it can be properly maintained for the rest of my life. The other ear.. my good one. Isnt good any more. It doesnt drain or have any air circulation like a regular persons ear. It has a negative suction inside of it due to this. The negative suction has litterally pulled my ear drum/(other ear parts) back in too far for doctors to really see what is going on. I am loosing my hearing and there is an infection that could potentially cause very vey seriouse future damage to my bones, nerves, and even my brain if this goes unattended. I am now going to look into government, state, and charity for funding these very much needed surgeries on my ears. Please PRAY for me, and if you have any information that would be helpful for a person without insurance that falls under the "pre-existing conditions pit fall" please do email it to me. Im only going to be able to let this thing go for about another 6 months to 8 months before it could get serious and cause me some bad problems. My mom says she'll sell things to help me pay for this if I cant get help... lets all hope she doesnt have to do that. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and thanks for your prayers and any helpful information regaurding funding.
The goal amount is approximately 1/4th of the actual cost of the surgerie(s) she will need. If you can afford only one dollar please reach out and help Angela beat the odds for survival.
God Bless!
Ann,
Angela's Mom
