The Story
Weeks before Tori’s 16th birthday tragedy struck. Tori was involved in an auto accident in Joplin Missouri that sent her to the local hospital. Tori had to have emergency surgery to relieve pressure on the brain and was transported to Springfield Missouri hospital for this surgery. Tori made enough progress to be released and was sent home to Joplin for a short stay at home.
Days before Christmas 2018 Tori first setback happened, she had to have surgery again to stop spinal fluid leakage. After this surgery and during her recovery period in hospital Tori developed Meningitis and became seriously ill, treatment was started. Two days before Christmas 2018 setback two caused the hospital doctors to tell close friends and family that Tori had “NO” brain function and the family should decide if they would like to donate her organs.
Miracle on Christmas Eve. The family had decided to donate Tori’s organs and was beginning to start the process of notifying the hospital when to their surprise Tori opened her eyes. Tori was not ready to go to heaven and is now determined to regain as much life as she can. Tori since opening her eyes have not been able to move any part of her body but the head. She has no or limited feeling through-out her body. Tori has not spoken a word to anyone but can answer yes/no questions through eye movement.
Springfield hospital felt that Tori needed more critical care than they could provide and transported her to Children Hospital in St. Louis. This hospital is preparing her to again be transferred to Ranken Jorden Bridge Hospital. At this hospital Tori, we all hope will begin her rehab journey home.
Please join the Friend of Tori to make this Happen. Please help us get her back home and hopefully back to school. Tori misses and enjoys all family and friends and want to come home to all of us. Could you please become one of her friends by donating or by helping in any way you can.
Tori’s Mom Kathy has not left her side. Kathy has stayed with her all this time causing her to quit her Job. The family struggles to keep Kathy with her, and she also needs our help. The requested donations will help Kathy stay with Tori and eventually bring her home.
Thanks
