48 State Drive for Autism (AAP)
Tax deductible
I'm Mike and this is my son Adam. We are raising money for autism.
I enjoy one-on-one road trips with my sons. This year is Adam’s turn and he thought we should drive to all 48 contiguous states. Adam has Asperger’s Syndrome and we decided to make our trip a fundraiser for autism.
For more information about us, or to follow us on our road trip, please visit our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pg/48StateDriveForAutism.
All donations will go to Autism Action Partnership, a non-profit organization. AAP has two programs that resonate with me and my wife, Jolene. They sponsor Circle of Friends for over 220 schools and counting (including Adam's school), which surrounds a child on the spectrum with ‘normal’ kids, building friendships and breaking down barriers. Their PACE program helps people on the spectrum as they look for sustainable employment -- something Adam will likely need help with in the future.
We’ve known Adam was autistic since he was three. He is now 15. Our goal is much more than awareness -- it is about acceptance. AAP’s programs are two great ways to bring the community together and create brighter futures for people on the spectrum. NO trip expenses will be paid with donations - all donation funds go directly to AAP. Please consider donating to this wonderful organization.
For more information about Autism Action Partnership, visit their website at www.AutismAction.org. AAP's mission is "To improve the quality of life of persons with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families through education, advocacy and support, thereby enabling them to be an integral part of the community."
