Ruadhans Surgery and hospital bills

I would like to tell you about my dear friend and her wonderful family. My friend Siobhan Hennessy is a loving mom to a wonderful little boy named Cian and a beautiful little girl named Emma. They are 5 and 7. Siobhan is also the loving wife to a great man named Ruadhan. The four of them have made the best life they can for themselves and work very hard to maintain a stable lifestyle for their children. Cian has autism spectrum disorder and Siobhan and Ruadhan do their best to provide him and his little sister with the best life possible, with all the opportunities available to them.
On August 8 2015, there was an oil fire at their home in Calgary. Panicked, Ruadhan went over to remove the flaming pan from the home before it caused any damage to his family or his home. Upon reaching the back door to get the pan outside, Ruadhan slipped on water that was on the floor, and proceeded to spill burning hot oil all over his right leg, and partially on his left. He also had small splash back burns all over his chest and neck. Immediately the skin was peeling off and they knew it was a very bad situation. Later on they discovered he had 2nd and 3rd degree burns , that would most likely require skin graph surgery. Unable to walk, Ruadhan had to take time off work with no money coming, he has applied for EI disability but that will take a long time to come in and will not cover expenses as he pay check would.
The scary health situation is enough to put the weight of the world on any families shoulders, however they are facing something terrible to add to an already delicate situation. As Ruadhan came over here on a two year Visa from Ireland, he had travelers insurance which covered him until his visa expired in June, at that time at the advice of their immigration consultants Ruadhan and Siobhan applied for permanent residency (with Siobhan sponsoring him) and his open work permit so he could continue to live and work in Canada legally. Due to his work permit taking up to 3-4 months to process, they have not received it as of yet, and Alberta Health Care will cover no costs nor issue an Alberta Health Care card without this piece of paper, and even then , the bills adding up right now will most likely not be covered. With added day to day expenses with only one pay check coming in , and medical bills, this family is looking at well over $10,000 in expense.
These are good people, a loving family who is always there for you if you need them, they are in a really tough spot and while Ruadhan and the family are trying to heal, they have the immense stress of bills piling up on a daily basis. Please find it in your heart to alleviate some of this stress for them so they can focus on rebuilding their lives.
