Help Me Study Abroad In Paris!

Donation protected
Hello everyone, My name is Malik Howard, and I am a first-generation undergraduate student at San Francisco State University, who is working towards an Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Marketing. Recently, I've been accepted to study abroad in Paris, France at The American Business School of Paris for an academic year, which is the Spring and Fall semester of 2018. Growing up, it has always been a dream of mine to study abroad, and finally I've been granted the opportunity to embark on a new journey, and immerse myself in a new country this upcoming academic school year. Studying abroad is the most beneficial experience for a college student. Not only will I embrace a new culture, learn a new language, see the world, develop as a person, but I will also impress future employers and graduate school admissions, which is very important to me, and will give me an competitive edge amongst my peers. Within the school, I will acquire real knowledge of the corporate world and business practices through highly interactive teaching approaches. The school also offers a study and work abroad program, which I can possibly work a 2-month internship throughout the summer (June-July) in my respective field. Studying abroad would be one thing, but interning abroad would be life changing for me. Being that I am a low income, first generation student, who holds an 3.25 accumulated GPA, I am considered a "non-traditional" student, which allowed me to apply for the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship. This scholarship is a grant program that enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad. Winners of the Gilman Scholarship receives up to $8,000. Due to the competitiveness of the scholarship, unfortunately, I did not get selected during the selective process. This scholarship would've helped me pay for my visa, flight, housing, student insurance, immunization, transportation, meals, and more. This is why I am turning to you -- my family members, my friends, and communities who have supported my journey and growth for so many years. With your continued support and contribution, I can make my dream of studying abroad, a reality. Whatever it may be, it can help me, in substantial ways, and I will utterly appreciate it. I am very grateful for every donation, rather it is small or big. Please donate and share, if you can. Thank you in advance! #SpreadTheWord Love, Malik
