4th Streatham Leaders Chepstow to Streatham Cycle
Hello all!
We are leaders at the 4th Streatham Sea Scouts, a group with over one hundred young people, taking part in regular camps, rowing trips and expeditions. This is our 3rd charity bike ride and we are very pleased to announce that we will be raising funds our scout group!
We have recently found out that our subsidy with which we use to pay rent for our boathouse is due to be cut entirely, and so we are turning to you to help us out. The boathouse is in constant use throughout the year, particularly in the Summer months when groups train for the regatta season and the annual Great River Race, a 22-mile rowing race along the Thames. The vast number of hours spent on the water builds in our young people an impressive array of interpersonal skills.
Our boathouse in Putney has been the 4th Streatham’s spiritual home for several decades, providing a venue for the shaping of thousands of young people’s lives, with over 100 young people currently on the books.
This year we will be cycling from Chepstow Castle in Wales to our scout hall in Streatham from the 14th to 16th April. We will be carrying all our own camping and cooking equipment with us as per.
