Roxy Needs Surgery
Donation protected

5 years ago I adopted this sweet lab as a companion animal to help me with anxiety. As time went by I realized she was more than that. She recognized when I was going to have a seizure, she gets help, she tries to lift me and licks my face until I wake up. She is always at my side if I don't feel well- or anyone else in the house. She has been the best thing to ever happen to me and my family!

Recently she has had trouble walking and jumping, so I took her to get checked out today. I learned that she is in desperate need of knee surgery. If she doesn't have it done the problem will get worse and eventually she will be unable to walk at all on her left rear leg. She is in pain and struggling and I cannot bear to watch her go thru this. In speaking with the doctor, I was told this would be roughly $2000 for surgery. We have pet insurance, which will help cover medication costs, but they bring in an orthopaedic specialist that does not accept the insurance. I am devastated. I knew when I made the decision to have a pet that there would be financial responsibilities, but I never imagined something like this! There is no way my husband and I can come up with that kind of money. I am asking for any help I can get to put toward this.

Thank you for taking time to read my story, share my story, and contribute to my fur baby.
