Basil, Therapy Cat, Vet Expenses

Basil is a three-year-old registered therapy cat, one of only a few hundred in the entire country. During 2017 she completed over 100 visits to senior facilities, business offices, hospitals, hospice, and more. In every visit Basil touches dozens of people who might otherwise be lonely and alone or at least in need of some purrs and a smile. During this whole time, Basil has been affected by chronic ear and nose issues. Our vet has made numerous attempts to find a solution to this chronic problem only to find temporary solutions. Our next step is for Basil to have a CT scan of her head, which we believe may expose a polyp in her middle ear that is causing her to sneeze and shake her head because her nose is constantly be plugged and runny, and her ears crusty and in need of treatment. This CT scan will cost $1,000 and that the resulting surgery will be another $1,000. After this  however, Basil will be able to return to giving out purrs and love to those that she visits without sneezing and sniffing along the way.
