Get Deb a New Bike!
Donation protected
On Wednesday, September 9, our friend Deb was riding her bike home on the Santa Fe Trail, as she does most nights. Deb, the Girl Who Roars, loves to live the #bikelife and is an inspiration to Dallas cyclists.
While crossing the intersection at Munger, she was run over by John Cullins of Royce City, a driver who ran a red light and was so drunk and high that he couldn't keep his eyes open while they took his mugshot. Deb was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
THE FULL STORY (news report)
Almost two weeks later, she is at rest and healing, surrounded by family and friends, covered in cuts, bruises, and scrapes. It's a miracle that she is going to be OK, and that she is doing as well as she is. That being said, Deb's bike is totaled.
Let's come together and make sure Deb can get back on two wheels when she's ready. The itch is there. The girl still roars!
***UPDATE: Response to the original goal was so positive that it was raised to cover the cost of both a new bike AND Deb's night in the ER. This will be especially helpful considering she is likely to miss at least a month of work. Every bit helps. Spread the word!
