On Tuesday, March 20, Michael Landquist, junior at Nevis High School, was involved in a serious car accident. He had to be removed from the wreckage of the vehicle. Michael was airlifted to Sanford Hospital in Fargo after being assessed in Park Rapids. He sustained a broken hip, a broken femur, a broken humorous, a broken vertebrae, and a broken nose. Most of the damage to his body was on his left side.

Michael has undergone his first surgery. He had a rod placed down his femur because it was shattered. He has a brace on his left arm. His right knee had a small tear in the quad a small chip on his knee cap. His hip is now in place. Doctors have said he will have to be non weight bearing for 6 weeks.

Michael’s recovery will take time, but we know he is fighter. He will have to spend a lot of time in hospital facilities in order to heal and rehab his body. Medical costs will be substantial.

Our goal is to raise $7000, which will pay the insurance deductible for the family. The Landquist family has touched so many lives in this community. Our hearts and prayers go out to them at this difficult time.
