Dear Friends and Neighbors, As we end our second season we thank all who patronized our Winter Market and are hopeful to return next year. We say "hopeful" because the future of the winter market is uncertain. Thus far we are unable to cover our overhead maintenance,transportation and storage costs related to the winter market sheds.It is for this reason we are reaching out to our community to ask for financial help to ensure the continuation of our winter market. The Charles Square Winter Market in Harvard Square, Now ending its second year,is an extension of the summer market that has been generously hosted by The Charles Hotel for nearly 30 yrs. It's a farmer run market and one of the first year-round markets in the city. Longtime Massachusetts family farms and local food artisans comprise the vendors at both the winter and summer markets. Though the summer market is in high demand, the winter market will take a little more time to achieve the same level of success. We are greatful to our friends in the community who shop for fresh local produce during both the summer and winter markets. Supporting our local farmers year round is important, however the winter market is especially important as it helps our family run farms get through the financial challenges of the long cold winter season.
