Young With Dentures!

Hello friends! My name is Shelly, I am a 25 year old wife and and mother to a beautiful little boy named Ashly. I recently started school to pursue my passion, hair design!
A little over two years ago my teeth began failing during my pregnancy. I developed a thyroid disorder that caused periodontal disease. Now, I had always had bad teeth, caps by the time I was 5 and a mouth full of fillings. I could have picked up radio frequencies! I had a horrible fear of the dentist and as I got older I started refusing to go. My teeth looked okay and really didn't cause me too much trouble despite years of never seeing a dentist and having less than great oral hygiene habits. In June 2012 I found out I was pregnant and that is when everything went downhill for my teeth.
February 2013 I gave birth to my son, by this time I was missing most of my front left tooth, and my teeth had all chipped away from my gums. I was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism, shortly after his birth. I still put off going because I was afraid of what they would say. The thought of going brought me to tears and shaking fits. I eventually got up the courage to go in late 2013, I was told the news. They could not save my teeth, in the long run. I could cap them all and pull some for $40,000 , but eventually they would all have to come out. I was in shock, 22 years old and losing all of my teeth. I didn't go back to that dentist, I went to a few just to hear the same thing. It took over a year for me to come to terms with what I had to do. I finally met a surgeon in 2014 who said he could put me under GA and remove all my teeth and place my immediate denture. I then had to find a denturist to make my prosthetic. On July 17, 2014 I had surgery and had my dentures placed immediately. My parents financed the entire thing through our insurance and Care Credit, because I had applied, my husband had applied and been denied because of our student loan debt and a credit card I had when I was 18. My parents are incredible wonderful people, who gave up so much for my husband my son and I so that I could be healthy again.
My teeth caused many health problems, I had been sick with a massive infection for over six months when I had my surgery. Which cleared up almost immediately after.
It has been over one year since my surgery and my dentures no longer fit. Actually, after 3 months my dentures did not fit. When they make the denture they have no way of knowing just how much your gums are going to shrink. I had 31 teeth removed including 3 wisdom teeth and an alveoplasty (bone shaving), that's a tremendous amount of surgery. My gums have shrunk over half their size, I healed completely and without complications, but now my teeth do not fit and there is no way to make them fit again. I saw my dentist and he said I needed new dentures. Which is what this GoFundMe page is for. The cost of my new denture is $1350 including the taxes. Anything you can contribute will help, loans are not a viable option for me or my family. My parents have helped me all they can, and I know they would help if they could. To prevent bone loss and facial sagging, premature aging, health problems that can be avoided with a simple well fitting denture. I hope to raise this money to take care of my situation, so that I can be better than I am now. Whatever extra money I am able to raise I will donate to charity. If you can't afford to donate, share this with your friends or your family. Thank you for reading this and donating or sharing this.
