TIMOTHY'S WISH
Timothy was diagnosed with ewing sarcoma on October 24, 2016. Timothy endured extensive chemo therapy and radiation. During his year & 1/2 long treatment he spent approximately 280 day in the hospital. While undergoing treatment Timothy suffered many infections which caused him to be put on isolation during hospital stays. When a child is placed on isolation anyone who enters the room must gown up, mask up and wear glooves; family members are allowed to visit however they all are isolated to the room. This can be overwhelmingly frustrating to the child when there is very little activities for them when confound to their room, bed, constantly being poked and prodded not knowing what procedure they will have to endure next. Timothy spoke many times about not having gaming systems readily, easily and/or available during hospital stays.
In the spring of 2017 Timothy was granted a wish through Mid Atlantic Make A Wish Foundation. Timothy contemplated for a year as to what his wish would be. Timothy came up with the idea to have 22 pre-loaded PS4 gaming systems with 2 controllers in 22 roomes on the hematology/oncology floor of the hospital where he stayed during treatment.
Timothy's dream is to have a pre-loaded, 2 controller gaming system in every pediatric/young adult oncology hospital room across the United States. Each pre-loaded gaming system is approximately $1200.00 which includes 2 controllers, games, movies, protective box, lifetime warranty and no internet require to play. Each hospital is going to cost approximately $30,000. We are currently working on a 501C3 which will take some time.
Unfortunately Timothy passed away on April 18, 2018 at 11:15 p.m.. We his family would like to honor and fulfill his dream 1 hospital at a time.
