Honor Brings Joy

We would like everyone to meet Honor! She was born without her back right paw. Honor was training to be a service dog but her disability made this impossible! So they found a different option for her! After a lot of hard work and dedication Honor’s Handler got approval for Honor to be the Facility Dog at the VA Medical Center in Muskogee, Ok! She brings SO MUCH joy to Veterans and Employees of the Medical Center! She makes people smile and changes the atmosphere of the hospital the minute she arrives! She makes being in the hospital a little bit easier. Sometimes she is the reason they get out of bed. She does so much good. She is only funded by fundraising and donations. This was a brand new idea/program. So at this time her handler is responsible for all of her needs which are normally not a problem. Hence the need for Honors first fundraiser to support these specialized needs!!! She’s had some recent problems with her prosthetic as well as hip and back pain from wearing the prosthetic. We are currently exploring different options. Having her prosthetic readjusted again or beginning the process again with a new company. This will range from $500-$1000 plus dollars depending on what option is taken. She is also starting specialized care with a Veterinarian who will do chiropractic care, acupuncture and physical therapy. The initial visit will be $170.00 plus whatever extras the visit involves. This will be ongoing care especially the physical therapy portion. When she receives her new prosthetic she will need weeks/possibly months of physical therapy to ensure she utilizes it in the safest and most efficient way possible! We are raising funds to cover both of these services! We would love your support. Honor does so much for our Veterans we want to ensure she is able to continue her mission!
