Rebekah said yesterday "now I don't want to get your hopes up but I'm having some contractions and they seem different". Of course my response was "oh heck let's get to the hospital and have these babies!" And boy did she do just that...

James and Rebekah welcomed two precious and adorable baby girls, Addison (Addi) weighing 5lbs 14oz and Elliot (Elli) weighing 5lbs 10oz. They were born at 11:38pm and 11:40pm Monday, December 14th. Surgery went great and the babies couldn't have looked better. As everyone entered back in the room getting their vitals checked, everything seemed to be going great. Rebekah was able to hold each baby quickly and we tried to compare who they looked like. She was exhausted just like anyone would be coming out of surgery. James and Rebekah were soaking up all the baby love and I told her I was going to head out so they could get some rest. This was all before 1am. I put baby Addy in the bassinet and Rebekah wanted me to put her next to the bed, so I did. Within seconds Rebekah started to seize. It was random, unexpected and quick. The nurses and doctors rushed in to help. From then on her poor body started fighting and going downhill quickly and shutting down quickly. They were trying everything possible to help her. Eventually James and I were escorted out of the room with the babies. From that point on it was a waiting game. What do I say to this poor husband and father going through this? There are absolutely no words. Just complete and utter shock. As he's sitting there with newborn twin daughters, his wife is fighting for her life in the next room. All we could do was stare in disbelief...

Rebekah's heart stopped beating in the early morning of the 15th at Sacred Heart. They transported her there in hopes the ICU could help her more. I will never forget hearing "she didn't make it". We will never be able to erase those images of her fighting and her poor body just lifeless. As I'm typing this, I ask you to pray. I'm asking you to take a minute for those sweet newborn babies and her family and just pray.

James has remained incredibly strong. I don't see how he is doing it but he is. He picked up these adorable girly and pink outfits that Rebekah packed for the girls and was just like what am I suppose to do with this? I'm use to jeans and a T-shirt :)

As I couldn't find the words to say to James nor the family, I thought of this page. James has been dedicated to the military for 16 years. Dedicated to his family, his career, and is now faced with all of this trying to figure out what to do. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made. But I do know that a newborn is expensive. But not only one, James now has TWO! They also have sweet 2 year old Jake who is extremely close to Rebekah. Thinking about 2 newborns, a son, losing the love of your life, a funeral, and traveling is a lot for one to handle. If you'd like to make a donation, here is the place. I know a couple of people have asked. Or just support for this family and lots of prayers.

Updates will be made as they come. As of now they are saying she passed away from Amniotic Embollism.
Thank you to everyone for the love and support. We love and miss you, Rebekah. The little family you have created is beautiful. Your beautiful soul and huge smile will be missed every day..

A Rebekah fact- she was a RN! She gave to others for years. I were always proud and honored to say my good friend worked in the NICU at a big children's hospital in Norfolk.  Let's give back to her now and help her sweet babies and family..

Rebekah fact- she's actually from Norfolk, VA which is where we met in high school and where she met her husband. Her and James moved to Pensacola about 2 years ago. I happened to live here too! I remember when she first moved here she became a part of a mommy group and met so many families and friends.
