Hope for Haiti

Recently we have been feeling the nudge from God that it is time for us to do something outside of our comfort zone; to be a part of something that God is doing in Haiti. In 2010, after an earthquake devistated Port Au Prince, our church adopted an orphanage where 33 beautiful children live. Some of their parents died in the quake, others were so poor that they could not feed their children and had to give them up in order to save them. Can you imagine that kind of poverty?

For the last few years we have watched many Crossing volunteer teams go there to work on rebuilding and improving the orphanage for these kids and to spend time with the kids just loving them. Each time these volunteers come back with stories and pictures, our hearts just break for these kids and we are nudged a little more. They are still in so much need. For some of them, all they want is for someone to just hold them.

This year, Rich and I have decided that we want to be a part of the team that is going back in March. On this trip we will begin to build a new building on a donated piece of land! This is an extremely big deal for them! We will also get to spend a whole day at the orphanage hanging out with the kids! It is our desire to bring the love and hope of Jesus to these kids who have lost so much. Will you be a part of this with us?

We are asking for your support. First, through prayer, for safe travels, good health and a productive trip. And second, financially. If you would like to donate to help with the expenses, your gift would be grately appreciated. We must both have our first down payment of $900 by January 5th. The total cost of the trip will be $1800 each for airfare and hotel. We are praying that God will bring the resources for us to go. We would love it if you would partner with us in this journey.
