Bail Fund For Abolish Ice Activists

A month ago, one thousand Central New Yorkers crowded around 401 S. Salina Street, home to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and joined in the urgent, full-throated, national call to abolish the agency. ICE's crimes against basic human values are many. Every detention puts a family's fate in limbo. Every deportation splits up a family or sends someone back into a desperate situation they have fled. ICE's continued separation of children from their parents or guardians at the border is only the most extreme form of violence they practice. Declaring parents ineligible to claim their own children and charging them for expensive DNA tests to establish they are "eligible" for family reunification is outrageous. Rampant abuse of these children in the meantime is obscene and intolerable.  Some of our neighbors decided that they had no other choice than to try to stop these horrific kidnappings. Participating in direct, collective action, these community members were arrested today while delivering an eviction notice to ICE in Syracuse. Please contribute to help with their legal fees and any fines they incurred so we can share in the effort to stop ICE.  Remember, we are the ones we've been waiting for.
