Help Sean Beat Cancer

Sean’s in a battle for his life against terminal tongue cancer. His fight began in December 2017 and he’s never given up!! He’s gone through mega-doses of chemo along with 35 radiation treatments which made him so sick he ended up in the ER (and then hospitalized for a week!) with a neutropenic fever - he had no White Blood Cells, no Red Blood cells, no platelets, and no hemoglobin. But he fought his way back and started getting better. Then at the end of July he found out he still had cancer in a lymph node. Surgery was scheduled and 33 lymph nodes were removed - 3 had cancer. During surgery the doctors biopsied areas of his tongue that were concerning. The results came back positive for cancer. This is a new area of his tongue and these cells grew since diagnosis in December. Because of this new growth - during high doses of chemo and radiation - it’s being labeled aggressive and chemo-resistant. Sean’s diagnosis is Stage IV terminal cancer. Because Sean’s been so sick from the treatment he hasn’t been able to work much and is currently unemployed. He still has $39k in hospital bills from January. Sean and Sarah need to get to the University of Washington in Seattle for a second opinion and to look into options for a glossectomy (total tongue removal surgery). Sean has applied for disability with Social Security but that can take weeks or months to kick in. He also has a few bucket list dreams to try and accomplish before he’s too sick to do them (see a Steelers game at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, see TSO in concert, take a multi-state scenic train ride, visit Ireland). Any help you can provide to ease Sean’s financial burdens during this time will be so appreciated.
