Drunk Driver Hits My House

The day was August 26th my grandfather passed away at the age of 97 he was a ww2 vet with a Purple Heart he was also one of the lead chemist to discover lead poisoning in the Great Depression era (children were so hungry they were eating paint chips of the homes). My grandfather was a wonderful man, my father died when I was 5 so he was my father figure my whole life. Losing him was tough for our whole family his wife of 70 years was so heart broken you can see it in her eyes. so to get there minds off things my mother sister and grandmother went to Disney land for the Labor Day holiday I didn’t go because I had tickets to made in America festival so I stayed home. Around 1030 Saturday night I get a call from my little sister crying saying the house got hit by a drunk driver so I rushed home from the festival to cops informing me that she had hit and ran someone at Walmart. Once she fled the scene she then hit over 17 parked cars and then finally struck my home. The woman went right through our bay window taking out my grandmother China cabinet and several other sentimental valued items Thankfully my family was not home because they would have been in the room she hit and they most likely would have been killed. We have family in Florida so my grandmother didn’t have to come back home to her house in shambles. Since trump changed the law about spouses collecting money from IU she will have to sell her home that she has lived in for over 70 years. It breaks my heart because she is losing everything attached to her husband no one deserves to lose everything. This home is my grandmothers home she is 90 years old she is the original owner of the home she raised 6 of her own children in this home and raised 5 grandchildren including myself.
