Journalist Sofia Mannos Wheelchair
Donation protected
CAMPAIGN CLOSED; our beloved Sofia has passed away.
Sofia Mannos, an internationally renowned journalist, suffered a tragic accident which has left her a quadriplegic.
After covering so many stories throughout the world, one wrong step in her home led to a devastating fall that stole the use of her arms, legs and torso.
She has been undergoing months of grueling physical therapy, but requires adaptive equipment and a customized wheelchair, which would allow her to tilt herself so she can relieve the pressure on her injured spinal cord. Currently, Sofia is mostly confined to bed, but a power wheelchair with this tilt capability would allow her to get back out into the world.
This chair alone will cost $35,000.00. It is the only hope for her to attain a decent quality of life. She also needs ongoing therapy and assistance with daily life.
We, her friends, are asking for any amount you can give. We would be grateful for any contribution.
