Curt and Jenny Bumcrot need our help:
Hi, Mike Hellweg here. Curt, Jenny, and family have been our close family friends for over 25 years. It's time for all of us who know and love them to help them out!
AL Amyloidosis diagnosis:
In early September, Curt was diagnosed with an extremely rare disease, AL Amyloidosis, affecting fewer than 4,000 people in the United States each year. This disease can affect the heart, kidneys, liver, spleen, nervous system, stomach or intestines, and will gradually cause organs to shut down. At this point, we know it is systemic within his body, and there is no known cure.
Our goal is to ease their financial burden:
Our goal is to raise money to ease the financial burden on Curt and Jenny as they explore treatments which may prolong his life. While they have insurance, they’ve already faced many roadblocks and denials of coverage for crucial tests to determine how many of his organs have already been affected.
They desire to travel out of state to The Mayo Clinic, as it is one of the few places in our country where a team of doctors has expertise on this devastating disease.
Opportunity to give back and love the Bumcrots:
During this time of severe stress, upheaval for their family, and prolonged time away from work, we have an opportunity to offer whatever financial support we are able to give as a way to love and rally around them.
Curt needs funds immediately to start testing and treatment at the Mayo Clinic. Curt has been denied out of net coverage through the remainder of the year. This leaves them without coverage for the Amyloidosis treatment he needs.
In addition, please pray with me for Curt's complete healing of this devastating disease!
