WWE Kamala Dialysis Fund
Donation protected
OUR GOAL: I'm hoping to raise funds for an iPad to give WWE legendary wrestler Kamala something to do during lengthy medical treatments. An iPad with access to movies (and maybe a comfortable pair of BOSE or Dre headphones) could be a game changer and help offer a better quality of life.
FOR WHO? James "Kamala" Harris is a former WWE wrestler down on his luck. Being a survivor of an illness that claimed both of his legs, he now endures many hours of dialysis for his diabetes. Time-wise, this treatment takes up a huge part of his life. He essentially sits and stares at a wall all day while they mechanically filter the blood in his body that his kidneys no longer can.
James doesn't have a whole lot, but is doing well and stays positive. He says he is “friendly with the medical staff” and makes the best of a bad situation. Though at the moment, he doesn;t even know what an iPad is, I am pretty sure that access to Youtube (or a subscription to Netflix if funds allow) would be a great option.
ABOUT ME: I played Kamala's manager "Kimchee" on a number of occasions. I am also the ghostwriter of Kamala’s new autobiography "Kamala Speaks," available at KamalaSpeaks.com .
Last year, you the fans made his life story a reality from a Kickstarter campaign. His new book, along with another fan-driven fund, have both helped offset costs for Kamala tremendously. However, rather than just paying bills, I thought this little fund would be a great way to give back some entertainment value to someone who entertained me, as well as many wrestling fans around the world.
Thank you for your time!
