Winter Benefit 2018

It's getting close to the coldest time of year in Santa Cruz area. Many people are not too excited for the change of seasons, but some members of the community are more vulnerable to the cold than others. I'm speaking, of course, about those members of our community without housing or shelter as the winter creeps in. Many of these people are my friends, and I consider each of them to be my family. So I've devised a way to help. The Poet and Patriot Pub has been kind enough to supply us with a venue space for a December 9th benefit concert toward the cause of keeping our Santa Cruz friends and family warm this winter! The suggested donation at the door will be a single item of clothing or other item to keep someone warm. There will be a raffle as well, and earnings from this page will be used to purchase the prizes. I was really hoping to have the means to compensate our generous artists for coming out, but at this point we are running short even for the raffle. The funds from the raffle, any extra from this gofundme page, and of course our donated clothing items will go to the Santa Cruz Warming Center. In past years, I have personally witnessed the positive impact of this local organization in our community. They have effectively distributed warming items and helped to secure shelter locations for unsheltered individuals for years. Please help us make this event a success and warm the hearts and bodies of our town!
