Marissa's Rotary Youth Exchange
Donation protected
Hello!
This is Marissa from Petersburg, Alaska. I am 16 and have been accepted for the Rotary Youth Exchange Program~ I just found out October 30th and there will be a lot of fundraising to make it happen. I'll be spending my JR. year of high school in Southern Belgium. I have to raise nearly 8,000 for my year abroad. The payments are divided into 3 even payments. The first one is due on December 1st...
I'll be doing a lot of local fundraising, but I figured this would give out of town friends and family a chance at helping me become a "World Citizen".
Traveling the world has always been a dream of mine. It's every five-year-olds dream to fly off to a magical kingdom. I've just happened to not outgrow that dream. My expectations of course, are shaped more to reality. I wont see french fry castles, or meet lolly pop princesses, but I will experience more about the world, and people, and life in general. I'll learn more than I ever could in small town, Southeast Alaska. I'll take what I learn from my host country and my travles in general, and I'll use them to excel in life and hopefully make this world a more beautiful place through my experiences. This is an amazing opportunity that I am so excited to share with you all. I hope you'll support me in this adventure.
I cannot explain in words my graditude towards any donation you choose to contribute. Just know I'll be thinking of you all while I experience my year of education and ambassadorship in a foreign country next fall.
