Nikolas' Leukemia Treatment Fund
Donation protected
Nikolas is a sweet, bright, and caring 5 yr. old boy. He had just started kindergarten but, unfortunately he only made it through a week and a half and it’s unsure when or if he will be able to return this year. After about a year of sudden fevers, back to back strep throats and trips to see the specialists, on Monday September 18th Nikolas was diagnosed with Leukemia. His treatment will take place over the next 3 years.
Juan, his father, recently became the sole bread winner when Karla, his mom, left her job to take care of their 18 month old daughter Zoe and to be able to get Niko to and from school on the school bus. For this reason they are currently between insurances. Karla’s healthcare coverage ended when she resigned from her job and Juan’s will not kick in until October 1st. The medical bills for Niko are stacking up quickly and treatment will be expensive. That will leave about a month worth of hospital bills, emergency rooms costs, a 9 day hospital stay and Chemotherapy with no insurance coverage. The hospital bills that are NOT covered by insurance have added up to $57,000.
If you can find it in your hearts to help during this difficult time, every little bit will help and is very much appreciated. We are grateful for any assistance as well as all prayers and all good thoughts being sent our way.
The Chavarriaga family wants nothing more than to see their little boy back to his normal self, enjoying school and family, and ultimately leukemia free.
May God Bless you ten fold.
