Perth Rideshare Driver Blinded.
Donation protected
On the 26th of December 2018 (Boxing Day) a Perth rideshare driver Adam K was transporting passengers to their destination. During this trip he was the victim of an unprovoked assault, as a result is now blind in one eye.
The driver was a part time rideshare driver supporting himself whilst studying, he is also a soon to be new dad, with his wife in her first trimester expecting their first child. He now has no way to support his family.
This should be a happy time for the couple to celebrate.
Instead, they face an uncertain future. As of this Friday they are having to move from their rental property as they can no longer pay rent.
The drivers medical prognosis is not promising. His left eye has been completely crushed and he is 100% blind in that eye.
His choices are:
To have further surgery on that eye to attempt to retain it, the difficulty with this option is that there is a very large risk of also losing the sight in his right eye.
The second option is to have the damaged eye surgically removed which will minimise the risk of losing sight in the right eye, however there will still be an on going lifetime risk to sight being lost in the remaining eye. (Sympathetic Opthalmia)
Either way the medical prognosis is devastatingly life changing for this young couple.
At this point in time the driver feels unsafe and wishes to remain anonymous. I hope we can put ourselves in his shoes and respect that decision.
We do not expect things like this to happen in Perth. What we do know though, is that the people of Perth rally together and help those in need.
We need your help....
Please help by donating if you can,
Please help by sharing this fundraiser if you can’t donate.
(we know sometimes things aren’t easy),
Everything helps no matter how small.
Thank you. ❤️
