Izzy the stubby tailed cat's Surgery

Isabelle (Izzy) came into our lives because we were seeking a companion for our cat Iggy (who we unfortunately lost to FIP last year).
We met her at the local SPCA. She is a shy, oddly football shaped, kinda frumpy cat with only a stub of a tail.
She had a lot of character to say the least, but I was hesitant to bring her home because I didn't know if she'd provide the kind of playful friendship that Iggy needed.
Needless to say, I was wrong and we quickly fell in love with a cat that is without a doubt the most cuddly cat on the planet.
Izzy loves nothing more than for you to squeeze her and hug her (like you're Elmyra from Tiny Toons).

In recent months Izzy started to have frequent hairballs, and then just vomitting. Eventually we took her to the vet and had Xrays and lab work done to a tune of 600 dollars.
These were inconclusive... it showed nothing (except that our already odd cat was even stranger, having only one kidney and potentially solving the mystery of her lost tail), and because I had recently switched her to wet food, which seemed to have given her a break from vomitting, no further course of action was set by the vet.

Sadly, over the last couple weeks, Izzy has gotten worse. Her appetite declined, and though she wanted to eat... nothing seemed appetizing enough for her to take a bite. Her weight has dropped drastically and I knew that we had to get her into the vet again.

We are hoping for the best, but she needs to go into surgery or she will waste away.
We want to give the sweetest cat we've ever seen, her best chance to live well and while we hate to ask for help, we have to.
