New Instrument for Young Musician

THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT- I NOW HAVE USED THE MONEY RAISED ALONGSIDE MY DAD'S TO BUY A NEW TUBA. I AM NOW IN THE PROCESS OF JOINING A DRUM CORPS. THIS IS VERY EXCITING FOR ME AND I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH.
Hello! My name is Samuel. I am currently in 8th grade and I play tuba in the band, as well as trombone for jazz band and trumpet and guitar for my personal enjoyment. Last year, I made 3rd chair tuba in the All-West (west TN) junior Blue band. The only two people who beat me were in 8th grade and 9th grade. I was in 7th grade at the time and managed to still beat out many high schoolers.
I've found that music is my passion. I've started improving my tuba playing drastically since I earned that position so that I can be the best at what I do. But the tuba is an extremely expensive instrument, ranging from $1,000 to over $20,000. My school's instruments are not in the best shape, nor are they high in quality or quantity (only 2 full sized). I am preparing to audition once again for All-West this year. Also, I have just been informed of a new orchestra made of middle and high schoolers being formed. I am planning to audition for a spot in that as well. A couple of years later, I will also be auditioning for the Bluecoats Drum&Bugle corps. (DCI)
I do not wish to use my school's tubas for auditioning. Also, if I gain a position in the orchestra, I would have to bring a tuba every rehearsal. It is not easy to transport an instrument like that, especially not from school. The school's tubas' cases are falling apart, literally only hanging on by one hinge. So the money raised will go to funding the purchase of a personal tuba which I can use.
Even if I do not participate in the orchestra, I will still use the tuba on a extremely frequent basis. Many times a day if I'm not busy. I would love to have the funds as soon as possible. Auditions are not very far away. Though I may be able to cope without one for a while, it will be difficult to transport and won't sound as good as a high quality instrument.
Music is really the only thing I have which I both enjoy and am good at. I don't have much to offer in return for donations, but it would mean the world to me if I could have a personal tuba to use. I truly believe that music will take me very far.
*the goal will absolutely not be reached, sadly, I know that. But every single donation, no matter how much, helps a tremendous amount.
