Reuniting Ugandan families
Donation protected
My name is Keren Riley and I am originally from Wales in the UK. I have been living in Uganda since 2010 helping to get children home. "Reunite" the project I set up, came into being because I saw a huge gap in services for children without parental care. I discovered that 80-90% of children in "orphanges" have families that love them but very few organisations were trying to reunite them to their families.
At Reunite we work with vulnerable children in Uganda and reunite them back to their families. We do investigations to locate their family and then assess to see if its is safe for them to return. We then help to economicially empower the families to increase their income so that they can look after their children. We have helped to reunite children from orphanages, after they've been kidnapped, trafficked for international adoption and we also help to keep babies with their Mothers who are in the Psychatric Hospital.
Any money raised will go toward employing a strong team of social workers, community psychatric nurses, economic empowerment officers, investigators and admin staff so that we can continue to resettle more and more children and strengthen what we do. The money will also go to fund more resettlements in Uganda and the surrounding East African countries. We also want to train emergency foster carers for children who need temporary care and also to establish a Mother and Baby Unit in the Psychatric Hospital. At Reunite we have a big heart and an even bigger dream to see children going back home.
We really appreciate you considering supporting our work. We are passionate about what we do and we have seen lives change with the children and families we have helped so far. Please help us to fight for justice, reach even more children and help us to put families back together again.
