Help Meghan and Tara go to Oxford!!
Donation protected
My name is Meghan Willett, and I am KU graduate ready to continue my education at Oxford, Nissan Institute of Japanese Studies. I am excited to begin the program!
My name is Tara Willett (we are twins, as most of you know) we are both studying at Oxford. I am going to Wadham College though, so we will be living at different places. Anyway, I hate talking in plural, so just know that "I" refers to both of us.
Why I started this Go Fund Me to study is actually for the plane ticket and a laptop of my own. Can you believe I have never had my own computer? Amazing. Grad students have a very heavy workload and we are encouraged to focus on our studies rather than a part-time job. So, I need a little help paying for the plane ticket and a laptop. Who gets the new laptop, Tara or me? We will play rock paper scissors.
I have been teaching English to some really cheerful students in Japan for three years and have managed to pay off all of my private loans, and made a dent in the government ones. I really enjoyed teaching and am sad to leave, but a new adventure awaits.
I really enjoy teaching, so I want to come back to a career in education, only this time at a University. I want to teach my passion: about culture and PEOPLE. Of course, language is a huge part of it, so I am sure I will continue teaching about the English language and Japanese language no matter where or what I teach.
If you want to know about my studies as I very busily write papers and research (and explore the town!), I will add you to chain letter email list or update my Facebook. I also adore writing post cards, so that is an option too.
Thank you for all of your help! Each donation is a blessing.
