Help Detroit's Kids Ride Bikes!

WRENCH is a charitable effort that believes that every child deserves a bike.   Since we started in March of 2014 we have supplied over 3,000 donated bikes and repaired many more.  Wrench operates out of the Core City neighborhood directly (walk in bike shop); but our main focus is to come to where the need is.  Our first year we set up in 2 other neighborhoods with cooperation of the community and held "bike clinics" as neighborhood events. Our 2nd year we added 2 neighborhoods and helped at other similar events. We come back for followups to each neighborhood we service, establishing ongoing relationships with the communities we serve.  

As our volunteer base grows, we plan to add more neighborhoods.  We would also like to expand on teaching bike repair to the youth.  We started a program where adults can earn a bike by providing anything useful to the Wrench community.  We have received everything from frozen hot dogs to clean up help and love to pass on our knowledge of bike repair and maintenance.  

WRENCH has done all this on a shoestring budget to date thanks to donations of things and time from our supporters but there is more that we yet need to take care of.  Our goal for 2019 is to keep the costs down as low as possible by ordering supplies in bulk.  Please share this campaign to your social media and contacts and see if anything on our wish list is something that you can help us with.
