Rustin Luther's Medical Expenses

If you’re reading this, it means that you are one of the countless people in the world who call Rustin Luther a friend, a brother, a family member, a community leader, or just a really good dang ol’ dude! I’ve never seen anyone spend more than a minute with Rustin without falling in love with his loud (VERY loud) personality and huge Texas charm. He’s just a one-in-a-billion guy who brings smiles anywhere he goes.
Unfortunately, our friend and brother Rustin just received some very bad news:
He’s dying.
After suffering emergency symptoms while on tour in New Orleans, a team of doctors in Louisiana and Texas ran every test imaginable and finally came to a really unpleasant conclusion: Rustin has a cancerous tumor on his brain stem. It’s inoperable. It’s incurable. And ultimately, it is going to take his life. The ray of hope in this otherwise dark forecast is that, with treatment, Rustin will still have time to live a normal life for as long as his condition can be managed.
This is the kind of news that we all fear hearing about our family members and loved ones, and right now the most important thing in the world is joining together for Rustin and his family and helping them in every way possible. Family takes care of family.
For Rustin and his loved ones, the medical bills from hospitalization and diagnosis are already staggering, and the long road of treatment needed in order to prolong the length and quality of Rustin’s life for as long as possible is going to be an astoundingly expensive endeavor as well.
We, as friends and extended family members of Rustin, are setting up this page and asking everyone whose life has ever been enriched by Rustin to donate money to help alleviate the costs of these mounting medical bills. Anyone who knows Rustin knows that he’s too much of a proud, stubborn Texan to ask for charity himself, but this isn’t charity: this is about a community giving back to a man who has given so much of himself to everyone he’s ever met.
Please donate what you can, and please share this page with anyone whose life has been enriched by this loud voiced, big hearted son of Texas. Rustin has always been there for us, now it’s time for us to be there for him!
