Steven's Medical Expenses

Donation protected

My son Steven is 4 years old & is a twin to his sister. Steven is a happy and a tough little boy, but here is his story.
It all started when he was 2 months old in 2011. His pediatrician referred us to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. On December 23, 2011, we saw a plastic surgeon because of Steven's head and neck. Steven has whats called Torticollis-which can be painful. His head condition is called Brachycephaly(flat on the top of his head and the back of his head.) He got a helmet to correct it but couldn't wear it long because he was allergic to it. In 2012, Steven started receiving botox injections and physical therapy for his Torticollis, which started when he was 6 months old.
In April of 2013, we requested an MRI because of how Steven was acting, so we got a phone call from his rehab Doctor saying, Steven had a brain tumor called Choroid Plexus Papilloma. On July 5, 2013, it was removed. Two months before he turned 2 shortly after Steven's surgery, other's signs started occurring which concerned some of his Doctors. After many Genetic testing's, they discovered 3 unknown significance in his genes. Which in short term means, this has caused him to have the following; Global Developmental Delays, Generalized/Cervical Dystonia(involuntary muscle contractions,) Epilepsy, Tremors, ADHD, Language Disorder(Receptive/Expressive.) With all of this said, this will stay with him for the rest of his life.
Steven will start Pre-K in the fall, but with everything going on currently, it will possibly hold him back from children his own age. We go to Children's Mercy every other week and sometime's more than that. Also every 3 months he gets blood work done.
The money will be used towards ALL of Steven's Medical Expenses. The funds would be greatly appreciated within 5-6 months of this year.
At the beginning we have tried to stay current with paying the bills, but it was so overwhelming, we fell deeply behind, and it seemed like we were never going to catch up. In the meantime, I lost my job and our means were not there anymore. With only my husband's income it's just impossible. Then Steven's surgery happened and it's been downhill from there.
Giving this opportunity and asking for this gift is truly AMAZING!!!
My husband and I are so GRATEFUL and very appreciative for any help we receive. Every chance we get, we always are there for people in need.
Steven is BLESSED by people out there that TRULY CARE!!!!
