Family House Fire
Donation protected
On October 14th, 2018 while we were away watching a football game with a friend, our home caught fire. The fire destroyed everything inside our home and killed our two dogs, Charly and Kumar and our two ferrets, Blaze and Bolt. While we owned the home and the rebuild will be covered for the most part by insurance, we have run into a big, tall brick wall. Our home is filled with Asbestos. Asbestos is something that was used in insulation and texturing but has been banned since the 80s due to its harmful effects. It has to be removed from the home by a company in a contained environment and transported out of state to be disposed of. The insurance has gone down to the fine print and are refusing to cover the removal which totals at $27,350. At this point, we are asking for help which is something that doesn’t come easy for either of us. We’ve exhausted all our options. We’ve talked to attorneys and the state and it seems like there’s just no saving grace for our little family. Any and all donations are appreciated from the bottom of our hearts. We’ve been blessed with great friends, family, and neighbors who has assisted us through this hard time and we just can’t thank everyone enough.
