Alfie & Thomas new wheelchairs
Donation protected
We are raising funds to purchase specialist wheelchairs for our twin boys Alfie & Thomas
Alfie and his brother Thomas were very eager to meet mummy and daddy and were born 13 weeks early, due to this they have overcome many battles.
Alfie is a very outgoing happy 3 year old he suffers from global development delay and mild cerebral palsy which is due to his prematurity, he can walk with the help of a kaye-walker but any distance he requires a wheelchair.
His current wheelchair does not cater his needs and is very uncomfortable for him to sit in for long periods of time. It is restricting his development as it is not comfortable on rough ground and is very difficult to push on soft ground, this makes it hard for us to take him to parks or the beach where he loves to play with sand and water.
Thomas is a very happy chappy with a loving caring nature and loves kisses and cuddles, he suffers a little more than Alfie with severe cerebral palsy, global development delay and registered vision impaired. A specialist reclining wheel chair with which he can push the wheels will give him the opportunity to become more independent and will be a lot more comfortable for when we go to the park and for walks.
As both boys need wheelchairs to go out and about I have been using a buggy seat for Alfie.
He is now getting too heavy for the buggy seat so he needs to sit in a wheelchair at all times. The current combination of a wheelchair and postural buggy makes it very difficult to push both of them on my own. They are at different heights and the wheel chair is difficult to steer with one hand, this renders me housebound if I cannot get any help.
The new wheelchairs will be the same height, lighter and have a central handle which will make it a lot easier to push both of them at the same time, i will also have the option of clamping them both together if i need to.
Please help to share our campaign and raise the awareness we need to reach people willing to donate.
Thankyou for taking the time to read this it is greatly appreciated, and please follow our facebook page for more updates https://www.facebook.com/alfiethomas11
