Hospital Thanksgiving Dinner

For the last few years we have gotten pizzas delivered on thanksgiving to the ICU that cared for my dad in downtown Dallas. This ward, specifically the waiting room, is my personal idea of hell. Every year we have done it they have called us to say thank you, because there are almost always big car accidents and whole families who were expecting to sit down and enjoy a dinner together end up spending the day in purgatory waiting to see how much their lives are about to change. You develop amazing camaraderie with all the other families who will spend hours/days waiting for those precious 10 minutes just to see their loved ones. We can't give them a dinner to replace Thanksgiving, but we can make sure that their bodies are fed and nourished so they can be strong for the days ahead. Just as importantly, the staff (generally 4-8 nurses and doctors per icu patient) who are missing their own dinners, deserve a good meal as well. 

I would like to be able to provide a full thankgiving dinner for the staff and the families in the waiting room. I'd like to get the money collected over the next week so I can make sure all the plans are in place, and everything is settled.  

Whatever we raise, we will make sure as many people can get fed on this holiday as possible. So every little bit counts and even if we dont meet our goal, I'll will make damned sure something gets figured out. Thanks so much to everyone who has offered, I can not tell you what this means to me.
