Svet's Medical Fund
I have know Svetlin (Svet) Radoslavof and his family for at least the last 15 years. Svet's mother Vera, brought her two sons to the United States from Bulgaria for a "better life". Svetlin and his brother Iassen, were very young boys when they first came to this country. Vera came to this country with nothing more than change in her pockets and worked numerous jobs to provide for her family.
Vera met and became friends with my son Scott and in no time, we all became "family". I have seen these young boys grow into good, hardworking, honest and productive men.
Svetlin began playing the violin as a young boy in his native Bulgaria. When they came to the United States his mother signed him up at the Eastman Theatre to continue his studies. Svet's first love has always been music and when one door closed he opened another. Using his God given talents, Svet became the very first Hip Hop Violinist. During this time Iassen was busy studying photography and learning how to make videos. The brothers were inseparable.
Svet has performed on "America's Got Talent", has done fundraising in Rochester, New York, has performed all over the United States and Canada, has played for our Troops, and traveled and performed in numerous countries all over the world.
Svetlin has clearly given back to his community, his country, and his native homeland of Bulgaria and has made us proud.
This family has survived many challenges, but the one they face today is insurmountable. As I write this, Svet is in Rochester General Hospital waiting to be transferred to Strong Memorial. What began as a headache, will require brain surgery. Svetlin's skull did not develop properly and is putting pressure on his brain. There are also several "unknown" areas on his MRI that we are unsure of at this time.
I am asking you to "pay it forward". Svet is unable to work. The funds will be used to help him pay his bills and any necessary expenses that arise.
Like Vera, I am a mother of three fine sons. I could not imagine this happening to one of them, but if it did; I would hope that someone would be there to help us. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for anything that you can donate.
