Hey everyone,
My name is Nick and I am a student at Temple University. Since the weather has been getting nicer I have been seeing almost 60 kids come to the local basketball courts next to the Duckrey Tanner School on Susquehanna street we have already completed our goal of 15 courts.
Now some of these kids may have a story, maybe basketball is their outlet to a bad life, maybe it's someones passion to make it big, maybe some kids go to make friends because they don't have any. What ever the reason is, these kids are here every single day playing the game that so many people love.
The problem is, since I have been at Temple the courts have not been updated such as all 10 hoops do not have nets on them. Also, 3 rims are either bent or broken. My guess is the city/school does not have the sufficient "funds" to make these courts better. So The Net Project has made this opportunity come true.
As our goals get higher that calls for more sponsors and shares to help bring these courts back to life, these kids deserve more than what they have and us as people should make an impact. We have already reached our first goal to renovate 15 courts but now the need is rising! We are bringing Philadelphia basketball back!
