In Loving Memory of Leighton Shank

Donation protected
On October 10, 2015 we tragically and suddenly lost Leighton Shank, a beloved father, husband, son, brother and friend.  My name is Adam Hamidi, my wife Leah and I knew Leighton for 19 years before his passing.  I went to college with Leighton at James Madison University, we were fraternity brothers in Tau Kappa Epsilon and had always made the time to reconnect and hang out through all the twists and travels life threw at us.  Many of you reading this I'm sure feel as I do and consider Leighton a great friend, we will miss him terribly.

Leighton left behind his loving wife Jolie, and his 3 year old son Dillon, his father Thomas, and sisters Lauren and Missy.  We are starting this site as a memorial to Leighton, and as a testament to the love this community of friends and family have for him, Jolie and Dillon.

100% of all contributions will be given to Leighton's wife Jolie to be used as she sees fit.  I urge all of Leighton's friends, family and anyone who was touched by this amazing person to contribute to this memorial fund.   Our hope is that your contributions will help restart this beautiful family's life however suits them, whether to fund Dillon's education, help Jolie's career, or simply allow Jolie and Dillon to be able to enjoy time with one other without fear or concern over money.

Personally speaking, Leighton was the type of guy that from the first time I met him, I wished nothing but the best for him. I always hoped good things would come his way.  The last few years I was especially happy for him, his successful career, that we both moved back to Harrisonburg around the same time, our kids would be growing up together.  He always earned my respect. Leighton was gentle and kind, he never asked for anything from anyone, he gave and sacrificed for his friends.  I cannot relay in words how awful the news of Leighton's death hit me and my family.  I can only imagine how painful this time is for Leighton's family, my hearts go out to them and I feel compelled to do something to help.  I hope you share my feelings, this is your opportunity.

Hope the trails are this beautiful wherever you are Leighton, you will be forever missed.

Your friend, Hamidi
