Terminal Cancer Holiday Fundraiser
Donation protected
Last year on the 1st of may 2017 my boyfriend was taken into hospital after a seizure and his scan showed a frontal lobe tumor which at the time specialists thought was a slow growing grade 2 tumor. Over the next 5 months, the size of the seizures increased and it appeared that the tumor had dramatically changed size and had to be removed immediately. On October 12th as much as the tumor was removed, but the surgery had to be stopped after he could no longer move the right side of his body. After speaking to specialists, no one knew how long his movement would take to come back, or it would ever come back.
Later that week we were told his brain tumor was a grade 4, incurable cancer.
After 4 weeks in the hospital and lots of physiotherapy, Anthony was discharged to be followed up with radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
So far he has had 6 weeks of intense radiotherapy and chemotherapy and is now halfway through a 6 month period of chemotherapy alone. He finishes in August. It has been very difficult for himself and his family but we are proud of every day of how far he has come.
Very recently, we have been given the opportunity to travel to Florida for 2 weeks in November 2018. Anthony has always wanted to travel to America so this would be an incredible 'finishing chemotherapy' treat. I know this is SO SOON which is why we are struggling to string this together but know that this will be the only chance we will get to go. We have to completely fund this ourselves but are struggling financially as Anthony cannot work at this time due to treatment and I have just recently started a new job.
This would be the trip of a lifetime and no donation is too little. We would be so grateful to receive anything at all. It's been a tough journey getting here but I hope this can make up for some lost time. I want this to be the best trip of his life, as we don't know how many more we will have like this.
From the bottom of my heart,
Thank you.
