Romero Family Tragedy Fund
On February 1st, 2016 my parents, Patricia and Ruben Romero, lost their house, my grandfather Popo, and our rescue dog, Toby in a house fire. Further reading on the fire can be found here: http://www.kcbd.com/story/31112894/86-year-old-man-killed-in-monday-evening-house-fire.
The material items can be replaced, but my family lost everything. This campaign is to help them begin to recover. Not only did my family lose all of their personal belongings, family photos, and home to the fire, they lost a father, grandfather, and great grandfather. My family has some insurance, but they can use any help you could offer. From daily medications, to clothes, supplies for the kids to go back to school, food, furniture, burial costs, and so on.
Ruben and Patricia both serve the community in valuable roles. Patricia is a Medical Assistant at S.W.A.T Surgical, and Ruben works with the City of Lubbock Airport Maintenance. Their jobs inherently include healing and making the community safe. They have a large and loving family including their daughters and their partners Annie, Angie, Jessica, Liz, Cameron, and their grandchildren Lanie, Yani, and Hannah. The Romero family attends church at Our Lady of Guadalupe, where Patricia also volunteers her time to help instruct youth classes.
We ask that you give what you can, be it one dollar or one thousand. My family has some big challenges ahead, but your donation will help alleviate some of the stresses they now face. The kids will need help dealing with the loss of their grandfather and our beloved pet dog. But we aren't strangers to perservering. Through the help of our friends, our coworkers, and our community, we will all work together to move past this tragedy and continue to be an active part of our community.
Thank you for reading our story and thank you for your generous donation.
