Anyone who knows me knows that I hate asking for help. I have always tried to do everything on my own. It is with a lot of soul searching the past several days I have finally accepted the realization I can no longer do it all myself. I have been battling stage 4 breast cancer for eight years with a very small support system. I have been fortunate that it has not spread to any important organs for the most part and I have had very few side effects with my treatment.
The cancer is now affecting one of my lungs and while not life threatening is causing some symptoms such as shortness of breath which is affecting my ability to do many things I am used to doing. Needless to say I am very frustrated.
I have been traveling 60 miles round trip weekly for chemo and may be going to Portland soon for additional treatment if I can figure out a way to get there. The costs for transportation and medications are taking a toll on my small income. I have no vehicle and there is no public transportation available. Right now I rely on a few acquaintances to take me in return for gas money.
The thing that finally made me consider asking for some assistance is the realization that I am going to need to move soon. The stairs in the townhouse unit I occupy are giving me increasing breathing problems.
I have found a possible rental that would suit my needs perfectly. My problem is that while the rent is in my price range, I have absolutely no way to raise the deposits. I own nothing of value, I am barely able to pay my bills with nothing left to save and there is just no way I can pay the required deposits. I am out of ideas and homelessness is a very real possibility.
So here I am in all humility asking for help to raise the money needed for the deposits. I know many of my friends and family are in the same financial position as I am. From those I request prayers for a miracle and to maybe share my story with others. Thank you with all my heart for listening. I am a great believer in paying it forward and if I ever have the chance to help someone else I will not hesitate to do so.
