The Leroy Gonzales Medical Fund

On September 14, 2016, Leroy Gonzales went under the knife at St. Luke's hospital in Houston, Texas, to have an aortic disection repair and aortic valve replacement. This is the second heart surgery he has had, but his first for 2016. He is scheduled to have another heart surgery in the very near future. 

Leroy is a strong Christian man, and an active member of the Adams Street Church of Christ. Although he is disabled, he tries to volunteer with various civic organizations when his health permits. Leroy is an alumni of the Citizens Police Academy (2014),  and a member of the Normanna Volunteer Fire Department. While Leroy's physical health restricts what he can do, he is always willing to help when he is able.

Leroy is married to Rosa, and together they have two children (who also suffer from heart issues, scoliosis, and other congenital deffects.) Leroy tries hard to be a good father and a good example to those he's around, and many people look to him for strength and courage.

Today, this wonderful family needs our help. While insurance is paying for the medical bills, traveling expenses, lodging and food expenses are adding up. The hospital is located three hours from their home, and because of their children's medical conditions his wife is having to travel back and forth every other day or so. She is uncertain how long he is going to be in the hospital, but she does know that he will have another surgery right around the corner.

At the time of this writing, Leroy is still in the post-surgery recovery room (and has been for two days). He has had several set backs, and many blood transfusions. We are hopeful he can be moved to ICU soon. 

I am not only asking for monetary help for this family, I am also asking for prayers.  We know that prayers along side any monetary help they receive will help this family greatly.
