The Lititz Elite U15 Boys were crowned champions of the state-wide President's Cup Competition after defeating FC York Elite by a score of 3-0. Lititz Elite advanced to the Regional Finals held in Slippery Rock, PA. We will now advance to the National Finals to be held in Greenville, SC over the July 10 weekend.
The President's Cup is a national championship competition that starts at the state level. Teams compete in a World Cup format round robin competition to win placement in a "knock-out" round. Teams advancing to the knock-out rounds play until a champion is determined. Those champions advance to a regional final and eventually to a national final.
One of the very attractive qualities of the competition is that the round robin provides entrants with a series of guaranteed games rather than a single guaranteed elimination game. As such, teams get more time to prepare and compete. This tends to help players progress in their individual and team development.
This is an incredibly unique team that was created less than two years ago to support players without the high expense. The boys work for the money, volunteer their time with various community service, and have all volunteer coaches.
Please help these boys make it to Nationals!
