Sutherland Springs Tragedy

My name is Charlene Uhl. On November 5th, 2017 my 16-year-old daughter Haley was attending Church at First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs. My daughter was one of the 26 that did not survive that day. My children’s father passed just two short years ago. I am a single mom with 3 other children, my youngest being special needs. I am doing all I can to care and provide for them, all while grieving the death of Haley. Through the Church and donations received from all over the world, as well as local charities my family has been financially taken care of for the past 6 months. Their financial and emotional support we have received has been a huge blessing and we are forever grateful. The Church will only be able to help my family with financial assistance for a maximum of 2 more months. I understand this process and am in no way cross with them. I knew it could not continue for much longer, it is understandable. Grief is a monster. I am attending grief counseling and have agreed to even attend Financial counseling. I welcome all the help I can get. Every day is a struggle for me and for my children. The magnitude of this loss is immense. We miss Haley every single day. I desperately want to be able to provide for my surviving children and I know in time I will be able to– I am currently seeking employment, but in my current situation I see the need to plan past the end of summer. I have a short-term goal that will see us through the first-year anniversary of Haley’s death. With the assistance from the Church ending in August I am setting a goal of 15,000.00. That would take us through November. Our life style is modest and minimal. Rent is my biggest expense. If it is in your heart to help my family, I ask that you please consider. I am grateful for those who have carried us this far. God has been so good. We just need a little more help at this time.
