Alicia's Vet Tech Dream

Hi there,
My name is Alicia.
I've always loved animals and had an inexplicable connection with them. Since my first dog to my current rabbit, I love them and I have always wanted to help them and their people. I was discouraged from getting into the field by some who tried to convince me that it was a thankless career choice. I unfortunately took this bad advice and pursued other things all the while in my head I knew what I should be doing.
When I was 7, my father left mother with three children and no alimony or child support to help her. Regardless she provided us with a safe home, warm meals and love. In my 13th year I started to suffer with depression but was afraid to take medication. Throughout my life I've dealt with a lot of issues that have kept me from evolving into the person I know I can be. I have since started taking medication and have been working menial jobs to help pay the bills and rent but never make quite enough to put towards an education. I fear I'll be stuck in this limbo for the rest of my life and this is why I need your help.
I would like to continue on my journey by enrolling in a 2 year Veterinarian Technician course with Seneca College in Toronto, Canada. It is something I have dreamt about since I can remember. The costs I am asking for are to pay for tuition, books and campus housing as it is in a rural area and being close to school will help me out a great deal.
I can't tell you how much this would mean to me to finally be able to start the life I have always wanted. If you've ever wondered where you'd be if you'd made that decision differently, know that is what I'm going through as well. They say it's never too late to do what you want to do. The only thing holding me back are a lack of finances. If you can find it in your heart to support me on my journey, I will be eternally grateful and know there will be a passionate, caring person out there helping those who sometimes can't help themselves.
