Allan Barnes Memorial Fund

My name is Norris Barnes, the youngest son of my father, legendary jazz musician, Allan C. Barnes.  He was one of the founding members The Blackbyrds.  Allan was suddenly was taken from us on this past Monday, July 25, 2016.  He was a loving father, brother, uncle, grandfather, teacher, and a friend to all who knew him.  My dad has given the world so much through his love of music. If you had the opportunity to hear him play his sax, you too would have fell in love with his beautiful soul.

My brothers, sisters and I are heartbroken in addition to having to cover the cost of unexpected funeral service, however any amount helps; as death of a parent is difficult enough to comprehend without the addition of financial burden.

We also want to pay it forward in our Father’s name by establishing a music scholarship for students to pursue their musical dreams as he did.
