On behalf of my Uncle Daril and Aunt Clara, I am tyring to do whatever I can to help in this grievous time. I am up in Indiana feeling just completely helpless.
I got the phone call yesterday afternoon, Friday, January 8th, 2016. To hear my dad sobbing on the phone for his brother and his nieces and all their loss... only brought realization to the words that I couldn't grasp. I have only heard him cry a couple times in my life of 30 years.
My Uncle Daril and Aunt Clara Miner have 5 children. Justin, Musyetta, Amanda, Daril & Linda. They would be the definition of "tight knit family" in my reflection of them. They haven't had it easy but this family is tighter than glue. Always supportive of each other. Always protective of one another. They just love being together. All of them. Not all brothers and sisters want to be around their siblings but these guys, they do.
Tragically, Amanda (22) and Linda (13) were killed in a vehicle accident yesterday on their way home from Linda's school.
The pain. The tears. The grief. I cannot understand the loss of a child... and here, the loss of two?? Absolutely unimaginable.
Devastated. I am certain they are working through some amazing grief. I am sure that they haven't even concidered what their next meal will be let alone what two funerals will cost. Goodness. This isn't supposed to happen. It's hard for someone to be prepared for something that just should not happen. I am trying to come to words with how to be respectful of them all while helping you to understand the humble state this family is in. Uncle Daril and Aunt Clara are hard working people but at the risk of being transparent on their behalf, sometimes it's even hard for them to pay bills and put food on the table, let alone pull resources together for two funerals.
This family needs our support. We cannot give them back their daughters (Oh Lord, I wish we could!) BUT what we can do is ease their suffering by rallying up and help with their financial burdens. We can show Love and Support by giving whatever we can to them; gift cards, monetary gifts, hot meals, a card, acts of service (the cops got stuck in their driveway last night due to the mud- gravel anyone??), and most importantly PRAYERS!
Now listen. My Uncle is a proud man. He likes to be the giver. He and my Aunt would do ANYTHING for ANYONE. I think of times (like now) that they have gone out of their way to help house their extended family members and friends that need help, even if they themselves are already squeezing their family of seven into a tight, two bedroom trailor. These two would give you the shirt off of their back if you needed it. We need more of that in this world, don't we?
Any help, in any way, would be so very appreciated. Let's show them some Love guys. All moneys will be used to pay expenses in association with this unexpected tragedy.
We LOVE you Uncle Daril, Aunt Clara, Justin, Musytta and Little Daril!!! Our heartrs hurt with you for Amanda & Linda. We so wish we could do more!
