Help Amanda Scott Move to D.C.

Donation protected
Help Amanda Scott, an Alabama secular activist, move to Washington, D.C.!

My name is Amanda Scott and I am a secular activist in the heart of the Bible Belt: Alabama. I've been on the ground fighting for the separation of church and state, reproductive rights, and LGBT equality.  You can read more about my activism at www.amandalscott.com.

I'm asking for your help to move to Washington, D.C.  to start my life and career. Over the summer I will intern with the Freethought Equality Fund PAC, the only super PAC dedicated to electing secular candidates, a cause I am deeply passionate about. By fall, I will transfer to my dream school Georgetown University to finish my undergraduate degree.

Those of you who follow me on social media know that it has been my life long dream to move to Washington, D.C. to become a public interest lawyer.

I have worked very hard to save by doing work study, applying for scholarships, taking out loans and working odd jobs. Unfortunately, I have still fallen short because I have had to support myself and my disabled mother. That's why I'm graciously asking you for your help. Your donation would make the difference in my future.

Below is a list of estimate costs of living for the first couple of months. After I've moved, I will get to work and then I should be able to get back on my feet again.

Gas from Mobile, AL to Washington, DC: $79
10' U-Haul Truck and Tow Dolly: $674
Rent for studio apartment: $3,600 ($1,200/mo x 3 mos.)
